Description
Sunday 10/12 hit the water around noon. Went to our favorite spot. Lines in with clam. BAM Trig on. It was non stop trig double rig trig for the entire day till about 6pm. Wife had some 5 lb 20 inch slabs she pulled in..i started c humming some clam and next thing you know the wife hooks up and it's bigger then normal. She struggling to pull it in and I'm with my net in the water. As this thing got close to boat I screamed at her "It's a f$$ kn Striper" I went to scoop it took a run under the boat snapped everything..Wasn't targeting them and figured with the setup I used the hook was too small. So next weekend we will be targeting stripers then. All in all 38 trigs 3 blues 1 lost striper. On the way back in another fisherman didn't know what trigs were so we gladly gave him some so he can try.Sharing is caring...see ya next weekend !

Thanks John ! I'm gonna take the assumption that they love this one area bc if you drift 10 ft to the left or right the bite is not there..the minute you hover over that spot it's two on at one time..who knows..
Shammy I think I'm doing it right I take the knife and right behind that long pointy dorsal I slide my knife in there and start carving toward the middle and tail parallel to bones but the hard part is right behind the head it's like another hard dorsal..

You can fillet them pretty easily inside out like you would a fluke. Just use a small bait knife to start the incision, that is the hardest part and what dulls your fillet knife the most with them.

Got you..yeah after a couple incisions I couldnt get my knife through.ill switch to that bait knife for the remainder bc like you said my filet wouldn't puncture through them...thanks for the tip Joe!!!!
