wow....

I was at the boat ramp this evening around 8pm and heard that an orange and red flare were seen signaled off cape may somewhere and for those in the area to keep a look out.

Jimmy did you hear what made the Grady go under? From the looks of your picture the seas don't look that bad.

apparently, the boat was taking on water-the bilge pump wasn't blowing it out,and it sunk...
those older gw's,they had nylon thru hulls-terrible idea, these break off constantly...best guess is one broke off,and the pump couldn't keep up...apparently no high bilge water alarm...grady's are famous for this...bad idea, real bad,one of many ...

this happened sunday...the rips were pretty jacked up,don't let that picture fool you...

just spoke to a young man that is stationed at Barnegat Light(coast guard)here at work, he told me they had to tow someone last night off of the rocks. we have to check & re-check our equiptment, & when even this isnt good enough (because we all know stuff happens) we have to look out for each other.
be well guys.

BillyT,
During the summer, they are always towing somebody off the rocks eek But this time of year,it had to be a fisherman. Bummer!!!

glad everyone made it out the water.boats, especially grady's,they're replacable, people are not.
i had a thru hull break on my grady, the boat almost sank.
replaced them all with stainless steel.i was very glad when i sold that boat.
