Great picture! Didn't know dragonflies preyed on green heads! I will welcome them to my rod tip in the future.

I did a bit of research and found out that Rutgers came up with a pretty good idea of a greenhead trap. Built a few for the back yard and I do have to say, It allows us to actually enjoy the pool and dock without being eaten alive. Used a cross between the Rutgers version and Cape Cod version, but very, very effective. I've seen in excess of 100 caught per day. Now if everyone would put just one in their yard, and the town would put them around the marsh, we would have no more green eyed monster problem!

Can you send a picture of the Rutgers / Cape code version, my neighbors needs one of these traps. Can you provide some simple how to build instructions. You can send a PM if you like.

Greenies, like ticks must have a place in the grand scheme of nature, but it eludes me... BTW, favorite food of dragonflies is skeeters. Researchers have found up to 20 skeeter corpses in the mouth of a dragonfly.
