Description
Doug and I left the dock at 11:30 to try for an afternoon bite as the conditions looked favorable. We headed north in a 2' chop with an easterly swell which laid down as the day went on.Dropped in the spoons and a mojo at the 3 mile line At the Bathing Beach and trolled up to the pier and back without a touch, finally at 4:30 we mark a large school of bunker down deep and as we pass thru the mojo goes off and I start reeling when the fish starts her run peeling line out and I couldn't stop. I was hyped thinging this one HAD to be a fifty the way she was fighting. Finally got her to the boat and Doug gaffs her and she ends up at 46" 39lb. Trolled for 2 more hours and then headed for home.Glad we managed one.

Good job Rick!! Still a nice fish, and not a skunk.

That's a nice one but seems skinny for its length. I'd take that any day tho especially after all my skunks already this year Lol. You always seem to have action..good work

When asked where did we catch the fish, it's always in the same place, the lip.....

Nice catch Griff. Unfortunately I am not in yet. I had to have maintenance done on both my lower units. I hope to be in over the weekend, otherwise next week. Save some for me.
