Ok, so it's not a salt water fish, but I thought I would share. (I spend a fair amount of time on the fresh water too). 43" Muskie from the Allegheny River this past weekend. Also had 36 and 38 inchers.
Dew- I Muskie fish here in Jersey too! Just takes a lot of time and dedication to hook up. It's a very patient man's fish. I also usually make a run to Canada in June to fish Lake St. Clair for them as well. Didn't make it this year, but I got a 51" last year.
Fishinhard- That was in Venango county- way west of Potter. I have heard the water about the Reservoir is very skinny like you say. You still need a jet drive aluminum boat to fish these waters effectively. That is pretty much true the whole length all the way to Pittsburgh.
Used to go to Muskrat Lake. Betweeen Renfrew and Pemproken. Our goal was always a 50"+, but the best my Dad and I ever did was 49.5". Haven't been up there since 1959! (That makes me OLD!)
