Headed out solo yesterday despite the crappy weather. I have about a 10 mile ride to the fishing grounds, only saw one other boat the entire ride.
Anchored up in 5 feet of water. Water was 64 degrees and the tide was incoming.
Threw over the chum pot and dropped the line in. I was not expecting anything right away and the rod doubled over. Lost the biggest blow fish I have ever seen. I didn't get a good hook set. Things went quite for about 20 minutes and then it was game on. Once I was close to my limit, I kept only the largest ones. Left them biting. Only went through two chum logs.
Only other fish caught were about 6 small sea bass and one dogfish.

I have personal limits.....
One striper Two fluke(even thought I kept a third once after a gut hook) Ten sea bass(varies based on season) Just enough crabs that I feel like eating that weekend Never kept a weakfish
I kept way too many blowfish in 2013 and saw how they vanished for a few years so I limit myself to three dozen now.

I applaud you! Wish more people fished like that.
