Skate or Fluke or Dogfish Skinner - 06/10/10 02:37 PM

Neighbor gave me a pair of these fish grippers last year and I finally got a chance them. They are a plyer sort of device with a forked groove on the teeth that you use to pull the skin off skate, dogfish, fluke, blowfish, etc.

We went to try to find them and they are nowhere. They don't make them anymore, apparently. Anyway, I picked up a bunch of them and have them available at garbagefish.com so if you want to grab one of the last remaining implements for deskinning skate or the like, go to http://www.garbagefish.com/merchgrabber1.htm

I've got pics and you can order them online.
Also, you can watch my neighbor John use them on a skate in this video. http://www.garbagefish.com/cleaningskate.htm

I don't know, last year was the first time I went for them in probably 30 years. Forget when that was, July I think.

ON future marks, Larry said you can target them in some deep holes in the bay right now, but I think you would be more productive targeting sea lettuce and red snot at this point.

Thanks for your orders, guys. I've been to every shop and have not been able to find these grippers this quality with the teeth.

Garbage fish fry - July 24th - Fish Bonz bait and tackle 1/5pm. You will eat skate.

Do garbage fish and reclamthebay.org a favor for me and when you go into the shops, ask them if they carry any garbage fish flags? There's only two that do - one is Fish Bonz and the other is on Seaside and not one of our sponsors so I won't mention it. I like to sell them online - it's easier for me then going to shops and try to convince them of this whole thing - so I'm not trying to get you guys to sell my flags to shops - I just get strange looks when I go in and ask them to be weigh stations. (excluding many cause many guys like the seaside dudes, our mainland shops and such are good - but try this on lbi and the look at you like an alien. It helps with recognition and it helps the bigger picture - now when someone says - what's biting - I want my kid to catch a fish - maybe a clerk will say - try the dogfish one night - or skate are always there. Anyway - thanks in advance and thanks for your support.
